It’s Wednesday. My brain hurts from trying to figure out online forms and payments products that fit my needs wtihout costing more than they’ll be worth. I’m in this weird place – if I pay $$ for the A level of service and find out it doesn’t cover enough and need to upgrade to B level, but B level offers so much more that for the $$$ it isn’t worth the cost. Essentially I’m trying to figure out a way to automate some of the administrative tasks that come with doing large groups like schools and teams. If I can have an online order form where all the data is entered directly into a spreadsheet and the payment is handled through my Square account then I’m golden. My goal is 8-10 schools and teams this year. I have 3 booked so far this spring. It’s 1-2 hours of admin spreadsheet time per group. That’s 8-20 hours a year minimum. Say I pay myself $20/hour. Then it starts making cost effective sense but just barely. Because I’m sure some folks aren’t going to want to do it. So do I be a bitch and insist? The happy customer service driving businesswoman in me says no! Take whatever form people want to pay you and order! Print it out and write a check? Sure! But the I can’t get as overwhelmed this year as I did last year work from home mom says a big fat NOPE. People are just going to have to order online and pay by credit. Maybe credit and paypal. But I’ve also been in that place where I didn’t have a credit card. I don’t want to alienate those folks so I need to make sure I’m always open to options but yet don’t want to advertise that to everyone. So you see? This is why my brain hurts. It’s also rainy as heck out and the desire to go climb into bed with a book is HUGE. I also seem to be starting another endometriosis flaire which just has me craving comfort food I don’t have to cook. There’s a local deli with the BEST avocado BLTs but I don’t want to waste a lunch out on a day when I can’t sit outside at their cafe and eat it. Plus I have mosaics to do. One commission to get started on and a couple of other pieces in my head for a spring show in the works in late spring. TIME! That’s what I really need more of!
PS – just remembered I can write off software! WOOT! Now how can I make an avocado BLT a business lunch?
