Well, Hello!

If you’re seeing this, chances are you’re snooping around my sparkly new-ish website via my email blast that went out this afternoon. Hi!

There’s been some changes this year so far. For starters, I’m doing all my invoicing via square. SO much easier to keep up with than my multi-paged color-coded spreadsheets. You can still pay with cash or check but you’ll have a Square receipt for your records too. I’ve also invested in some wicked AI tech that helps with low light or other weird situations where pics come out a little too grainy for my taste. Which is ironic, since there’s a bunch of young whippersnapper photograhers out there rediscovering film and sometimes the grainy look is in. Who knew. Someday I’ll get my enlarger back out and blow their little minds. (Side bar – would love to have a studio and do large format film portraits in black and white that I develop in my own darkroom…if you would like to sponsor this dream feel free to slip me $50grand).

Another new thing is I just purchased the first ever ipad in our household. Super cool. I’m addicted to doodling on procreate in the evenings. After much shopping around and bugging techie friends for advice, a 4th gen ipad air with 2nd gen apple pencil really made a lot of sense and the cost was not as terrible as I expected. I’ll be able to edit on the go which is going to be a huge plus with the amount of kid stuff I have to drive around to and wait in the car (or nearest coffee shop) till they’re done. God bless my girls I love them so but I went a little crazy last year feeling like I had all this down time that I couldn’t be productive during. Sometimes a car nap or reading time was good and needed, but sometimes that annoying itch when you know you have shit to get done but also have no way to do it at a certain moment can eat away at one’s soul. So huzzah for the hustle. But mostly thankful for the privilege of being able to have uber flexible work hours.

If you want to scroll back in this blog for more philosophy and how I came about re-vamping things, go for it! Probably the biggest change you all will notice this year is pricing. I know. It’s gone up. But that took weeks of agonizing research, back and forth inside my head, a desire to pay myself what I’m worth and for the time and skill I put into your images (don’t get me started on photographers who charge extra to photoshop basic zits *eyeroll*). Quick link to this post will explain most of that but as always, reach out if you have questions. I’m an open book.

Anyway, enjoy, or ignore, whatever. I’m super excited to see so many familiar faces this fall! I’m thankful for each and every one of you <3
