2022 Recap!

50+ Family Photoshoots, four Bat Mitzvahs, a couple of seniors, three swim teams, a dozen or so headshots, 250+ students at four schools. Not too shabby!

I also got a ton of holiday cards from clients (which I keep because I am that dork) and they just made me so happy. I love seeing which pics you all choose to share with your friends and families.

I think I will go through and post maybe a top 10 photos here – there’s a few from this year that just make my heart sing. And you all should know by now that my favorites are the non-typical ones – the ones where kids aren’t always looking, where laughs are too big, and toddlers are hamming it up, and dogs are being clueless. I still haven’t finished my posts on the 2022 album on facebook (mostly because I’ve been avoiding my desk this month) but stay tuned, I’ll do a final dump soon.

I need to get back at my desk because I’ve got a couple contracts to get out for spring events already booked. Also need to close up the books on 2022 so I can do taxes ASAP (tax refund pays for the girls summer camp usually!). But, a HUGE THANK YOU to all my clients, this was one of the most profitable years to date for this little business.

Coming up in 2023: Sr portraits in the snow, cherry blossom engagement photos, a smallish casual wedding at a vineyard, a bar mitzvah at a gym with a super fun sports theme, spring family photos, summer swim photos, and SENIOR PHOTOS FOR MY OWN SENIOR. That’s going to be crazy. Not ready for that at all. But I have some ideas up my sleeves for her and her friends to do a group photoshoot and if it all works out, it will be epic. Stay tuned 😉

PS – I still do mosaics! I’m finishing up a two-piece commission hopefully in the next month, then I’m going to do all my holiday mosaic-ing that I never got to this past fall. So by April I’ll have christmas stuff ready to go – haha. There’s some holiday markets that fit better with my photography schedule (I did the Georgetown Visitation one in 2021 that was the first weekend in Nov and it kind of crushed me – these are the weekend before thanksgiving and closer to home so I’ll pick one I think). I’ve also got lots of ideas in my head that I need to get down in glass. And I want to paint again even though it’s been ages. And my friend is getting a kiln so I want to go make tesserae for my own mosaics and yeah. The challenges of being a creative…
