Why do my blog posts always seem to happen with shock that it’s been ages since I last wrote? Time flies when you’re having fun? Or time flies when there’s a million and one things to do at all times and you can’t ever seem to catch a break? Anyway, spring photography is off and running. I’ve had engagement shoots under the cherry blossoms, families, nursery school pics, seniors and mama’s to be. Next week I’m doing something I’ve never done before and joining one of my small Montessori school clients at their Spring Fling! We’re going to set up a little spot in their school garden and do micro-mini-teeny photo shoots. $20/family and I will get at least one good family shot and one good one of the kids. Maybe more if everyone is cooperative and there’s not a line. Half the sitting fee will go to the school and half to me and fingers crossed I’ll make a few $$ when folks order downloads or prints from the gallery. Afterall, I’ve still got an unemployed house spouse (grumble grumble) and groceries are not cheap these days. It should be fun and it should be chaos and I’m all for it. If it goes well, I’ll offer it up at a couple of the other small schools I frequently work with. If history repeats itself, May will actually be more rainy than April but hopefully we can squeeze in a few more seniors in before Memorial Day when all hell breaks loose and we have the three craziest weeks of the year with school and swim team happening simultaneously. I’m already bracing myself and I’ve got about 5 weeks to prepare. There’s a lot of take out and a lot of sunscreen and somehow as awful as it is I can’t wait.
