Fall Wrap Up 🍂📸🦃🥧🧡

THANK YOU.

I just wanted to take a wee second to thank you all for absolutely bringing it this fall! I have edited all family pics (and one wedding) taken on or before the first weekend of November – phew! There’s a few of you stragglers and a senior or two that I’ll be tackling this week and next and then that’s IT. Only a couple of new babies to photograph this month and usually an extended family or two pops up around Christmas. Other than that, I’m excited to say books are closed for 2024!

When I planned my schedule that was sent out way back in early September, I had an unemployed husband and packed as many shoots in as I could knowing I’d be the bacon-bringer-home-er for the foreseeable future. Then I was fortunate to have the absolute right job fall into my lap and started October 1st. Terrible timing, but my boss has been super understanding; I’m even able to bring my ipad to work and do some preliminary editing if there isn’t a project or customers which has been hugely helpful. Going forward I’ll have a pretty steady schedule 2-3 days a week and should be able to plan out next fall accordingly. Husband is still unemployed but hopeful!  Anyone need an HR senior generalist/manager? I’ve got one going for cheap! Not really. He needs a good salary and benefits. Mama needs real health insurance and dental! But I digress. My job (“Designer” at our local high end framing shop) is a heck of a lot less stressful compared to freelancing and while it has been an adjustment leaving the house to go to work it’s amazing when I don’t bring a single thing home with me.

Lastly, I don’t know what it is, but the families that bring pure chaos to their shoots somehow end up with amazing pics. I don’t know what it was (something in the air? this extended mild weather?) but those of you with preschool and early elementary aged littles were all absolutely wild this fall and despite the goofiness and giggling and wrestling we still managed some hilarious and fantastic photos. I think with that age you just don’t have huge expectations and therefore parents are relaxed, kids are relaxed, it’s true to life and I love it. I should do a whole post with just the outtakes sometime because there are some ridiculous ones. Thank you again for letting me into your lives, your families, and in return you’ve paid my bills and filled my heart. It’s a win-win in my book!
